This place may not be the cleanest or prettiest restaurant there is in the SGV but if you are looking for affordable and delicious Cantonese food Sam Woo fits the bill entirely. It shows why there are so many customers during the dinner and lunch hours- get there early or late or be prepared to wait!

When it comes to this Sam Woo, I usually order their WonTon Mein or Sui Gao Mein. Egg Noodles here are probably the best out of all the other Sam Woo's and many other wonton places.
Yes, This Sam Woo has its moments where there have been times when their wonton soup base is not that good / too bland. Or their wontons were too mushy. But out of all the many times, San Gabriel Sam Woo have been good to me and my family. Sometiems we would order their entrees -- big portion and cheap! and the taste is good. it's not EXECELLENT but it's better than quite a few places. But honestly, i think i would only come here for wonton noodle soup. nothing else. i can always go to another canton restaurant for a la carte.
For the roasted duck, char siu (bbq pork), or the soy sauce chicken - i prefer the other sam woo on valley in alhambra. I think they have better bbq items. (Although, i think there's another restaurant that is better, but i'll review on that later) But the san gabriel is better when it comes to wonton.
