10/16/2009 Inspired by the famous Chicago strip, Rush Street combines California style with Midwestern sensibilities. The spacious restaurant boasts two floors, two bars, two patios, and one very inviting stripper pole. The vibe here is fun, unpretentious, and welcoming. Great Bar Scene 7/25/2008 Rush is a great place for drinks.  The outdoor patio seating would be incredible for hanging out on warm nights.  The expansive interior has a warm wood ceiling, exposed high beams, and a long bar that flanks the room to the right.  Rows of high tables for dining have the effect of extending the bar vibe throughout the main floor of the restaurant.   A second level with its own bar and couch seating creates a more loungey atmosphere.

All combined, it makes Rush a great place for drinks and its other patrons seem to agree.  The place was packed when we got there around 8:30 p.m. but seemed to peter out around 10 p.m. We had the appetizers which were mostly bar food - pizzas, sliders, calamari, and fries.   All were pretty mediocre but I'm sure they will figure out how to make better sliders and pizzas.  The one standout was the asiago fries with truffle oil.

All in all, they've done a great job at creating a lively atmosphere.  A great bar scene but not an eating destination which is not always a bad thing.
