Without a doubt, the best fish tacos. 1/12/2010 I have been Ricky's customer since he began selling Fish Tacos about a year ago. This tacos are truly the best you can find, and more. Everything is always fresh. I like how Ricky is always happy to serve you, and to serve you the fish best taco you have ever eaten. Ricky is out mainly on weekends, in Silverlake.   12/23/2009 On May 30th of this year, I was on my way to Intelligentsia Silverlake for an Angeleno, when a rainbow umbrella caught my eye across the street. As I squinted, I barely made out a sign that said “fish tacos” on a cart outside of the laundromat… Read more from their blog Recommended Dishes The Ricky's Special! A fish and shrimp taco in one!

12/22/2009 Ricky's fish taco ($2.50) was completely delightful, especially since it was served with a killer smile. Ricky takes care of the toppings (crema, cabbage, salsa) because the hot oil is a little too close for his comfort. The deeply seasoned batter and tiny dice of jalapenos in the salsa really made this fish taco standout among the competition. I find it kind of perfect that a street food vendor makes the Los Angele's best fish taco. Read more from their blog Recommended Dishes fish taco

12/22/2009 With his secret frying medium that adds a unequaled deliciousness all too common to the good 'ol common king of fats (lard?) but with a light, super non-greasy, spiced crisp, his Basa (Vietnamese Catfish) batter involves imported Mexican wheat from his homeland and a significant amount of mustard to give it that signature zing. He thins out mayonnaise with skim milk to get the crema to the right texture and slivers his cabbage razor thin, just like they do it back home. The salsa is minimally chunky with a decent kick. All it needs to be absolutely perfect is a griddled tortilla instead of a the steamed, blandish Superior brand Tortilla he uses. But I do tend to be a tortilla elitist and most public will not even notice. Read more from their blog Recommended Dishes Fish Taco

Arguably the best fish tacos in LA 11/25/2009 He serves one thing and one thing only...his eponymous fish tacos.  I tried it a few different ways and the best is to have it with the pico de gallo about 30 seconds after he prepares it to give it time to cool down a few degrees.  The flavors are subtle and blended nicely, but the crunchy texture is what makes this taco interesting.  The only thing that could heighten this experience would be ice cold bottles of Tecate or Carta Blanca.

Look for the the bright red/blue/yellow parasol near the Sunset Junction to find him.
