Finally... Californian Cuisine That Works!

Sage is a beautiful little restaurant that boasts Californian cuisine. We went on Valentine's Day dinner and although we had to wait about 20 minutes before seating (with reservations), the staff are kind enough and the wait wasn't irritating at all.
Most of the guests are older, early 30s and up, probably the Newport Beach crowd.
I usually cringe at 'seared ahi' at fusion places, but Sage's is well executed and was not ponzu-overkill. Their cook their fish perfectly, not raw or too dry. My only quip is that their food can use a little more salt.
They have fun specials too. Last time the dessert special was Sticky Toffee Pudding... Oh man, that was good.
